Working with the Genius Lighting and special effects designer Howard Eaton, and his main man Steve, we were given a phoenix to build. I was responsible for the bulk of the outlining drawing work, and worked with Steve on some of the finer details.
The design concept was done by stage designer Es Devlin, and was to be flown above the Cauldron while it was extinguished.
Below, on stage was Darcy Bussel, and Take That! doing their performances during the closing ceremony.
