Portal Frame Building

It’s not all about glitz and glamour. Sometimes, good old fashioned engineering takes up some of my time.
This building was designed and drawn by me, with preliminary structural calculations done by me also. I designed every single part and plate, all in 3D and it went up like clockwork.
Good site preparation was key to this project, and the chaps set it out absolutely perfectly.
Every column, every rafter, every peice of cold rolled steel dropped int exactly as planned.
Not a single hole needed to be drilled onsite.

Vectorworks File references

This project made very heavy use of referencing files and symbols to make sure that all of the production drawings were up to date at all times.

I also made good use of Vectorworks worksheet functions to create lists and counts. All in all this project taught me a very new way of working in 3D for advanced heavy engineering.
